Naija Is Winning!
Dangote Refinery's IPO draws investors from 120 countries, including all 54 African nations! 🇳🇬🌍
The whole continent showed up! Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals says its initial public offering, the share sale billed as the People's IPO, drew investor applications from 120 countries, including every one of Africa's 54 nations, when it closed on Tuesday. The company says the applications came from all six inhabited continents. Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, said having applications from all 54 African countries is "deeply significant" to him, because it shows Africans don't just want to consume what Africa produces, they want to invest in it, own it and share in its future. The refinery's Managing Director and Chief Executive, David Bird, called it "a remarkable milestone." Made in Naija, with the whole of Africa taking part! 🙌🏾
