Naija Is Winning!
Lagos students win the national Future Innovators Challenge with ReLearn, a platform giving unused textbooks a second life! 📚🇳🇬
Old textbooks, new life! Four senior secondary students from Caleb British International School, Abijo, Lagos (Deborah, Makayla, Fife and Janelle) have emerged national champions of the Zenith Bank Future Innovators Challenge, part of the Zecathon 6.0 innovation programme run with Beyond Limits. They beat finalists from across the country with ReLearn, a student-built digital platform that takes textbooks left sitting idle at home after an academic session and passes them on to students who need them. The team built it after doing their own research with parents. "The platform helps families save money and ensures no child goes to school without the right set of books," said Deborah. Fife added that ReLearn helps children in underserved communities get the learning materials they need. The project lines up with three UN Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities and Responsible Consumption, and the team plans to take ReLearn beyond their school to reach more Nigerian students. Young Naija minds, solving real problems! 🙌🏾
